8/1/14 - Day 5: Deschutes National Forest

Phil's Trailhead

Colin Mcguigan informs the group about Fire being Good! If it is used properly. In order to properly take care of an area of the forest, they have to mechanically take care of the fuels on the ground. Mcguigan also spoke of strategically arranging the forest                             fuels in a balance so that they help decrease catastrophic                                           wildfires.

This tree was struck by lightning!

Group walking through the forest to view all the different types of forest fuels!
